The entire rope was soaked in it so cutting it wasnt an option unfortunately. The rope has only just worn in and is part of the best rope and hitch combo ive ever used, so my desire to keep it as a climbing line has got me hanging it up in the shed to dry out of direct sunlight for a while. It still stinks of two stroke mix! I wouldn't bin it, It would just be a shame to be pulling trucks out the mud with my favourite rope haha

Bugger! All I wanted to read was "petrol has no affect to the strength of your rope what so ever"

As in the title, there was an accident with some fuel and my rope at work and my rope soaked some of it up. Took me an hour to get back and get it in the washing machine with some soap flakes.. Water alone didn't seem like enough, though I still used cold water.. I can't find out on the Samson website (it's the "Velocity" rope) if petrol and oil will damage the rope.. I have heard and read synthetic ropes can be resistant to petrol and oil, natural fibres are ruined apparently, but I've got nothing solid. Any information would be great and helpful, Cheers Gareth.

Oh. All the branch wood was rung up too

The gnarly bit with half a branch left on it was rung up but the rest is sitting down the yard. That bit would have destroyed the trailer, even after skimming it up!

dismantled this Beech with a Crane a Few months ago, havnt got all the footage as we ran out of memory and didnt start filming until a little into the job... but, with what we do have enjoy. Fell was due to Merripilus Gigantious. the tree was defoliated (mid-summer drought and poor root conditions) but the wood was still sound high up in the crown. the roots were buggered though.

Coleman, did u do the cert arb at merrist wood a year or two ago by any chance?

I havnt seen Collibia since I was at college, remember being told about the taper but its a delicate jobto pick out without it breaking.
