  1. We'll the last new car I bought the garage wouldn't give a discount, they said they didn't need to do that to shift cars. Maybe 15-20 years ago but the margins are a lot tighter. The way HB20's sell I doubt dean needs to knock money off to shift them. Maybe a set off teeth or something but I feel the days of massive discounts are behind us.

Bought a Mini Countryman for the misses last month and got a very good deal - deals are out there if you negotiate. If dealers don't want your business that's their choice but if you don't ask you don't get.

  2. Yet when people ask us if it's cheaper for cash or "I've had a cheaper quote can you match it?" We turn all defensive?? Yet we want money off a grinder. Do you ask for money off I'm the supermarket?

So if you were to buy a new car would you pay full recommended retail price or negotiate a discount?

  3. We now have for the first time in over Four months a demo HB20, I know a few of you were enquiring a while back so if you need to see one give me a shout on here.

Any APF show deals on offer? I'm in the market for a new grinder and will be at the show over two days.

  4. APF is held every 2 years and I've been to several over the years.

I think it would be a great opportunity to sell/market second hand machinery from individuals/contractors - they should create an area where you can trade items - think it would be popular anybody agree?

  5. Thanks for your interest Essex Arborist.

I do have large concrete pads within the wood (relics of the US airforce bomb storage infastructure). These would I imagine be perfect for siting a Lucas Mill or similar.

If I could accumulate a load of millable stems, would it be worth someone's while setting up their machine and milling many stems in one session? I would be looking to sell the stems to the miller. Any that were not wanted I would convert to firewood.

As stated, the stems offered in the original post are currently under negotiation with another member, but I am looking to set up a mutually beneficial long term relationship with someone. The wood is 200 acres so plenty of materual to go at.

I'd be interested in meeting up and see if we can strike a mutually beneficial deal.
