Yet when people ask us if it's cheaper for cash or "I've had a cheaper quote can you match it?" We turn all defensive?? Yet we want money off a grinder. Do you ask for money off I'm the supermarket?
So if you were to buy a new car would you pay full recommended retail price or negotiate a discount?

Can lend you the rest bob if you want?
Bob's looking for a deal like the rest of us.
APF here we come should be some deals to be had.
-
We now have for the first time in over Four months a demo HB20, I know a few of you were enquiring a while back so if you need to see one give me a shout on here.

Any APF show deals on offer? I'm in the market for a new grinder and will be at the show over two days.
-
Is there one of these in the UK you have heard of?
Apparently first one coming to APF in September - there selling it to me for a special discounted price for all the marketing. 😃
-
I have the first one coming into UK for APF show 2014 PM for details
How much we talking for the basic model?
Ill be at the show ill look you up.
Will they be available to hire?
-
Like to hire this beast for a few days

As the title says looking for tip site for 40-50 cubic metres of Woodchip around September/October time.
If unable to take all chip but can take smaller quantities minimum 6 cubic metre loads that would be great.
-
I work just around the corner from this and it has been a massive, smelly ball-ache.
Who's yard is it?
-
Beware people check your Woodchip pile!
Not our yard but close by and the worrying aspect is smoke over major road could cause major traffic collision.

That old saying springs to mind "fools and their money easily parted"

Judging by our 6"machine the 8"forst will be an animal, might just upgrade.
Had a demo of the 6" but hopper too narrow for me. Apparently hopper on 8" is wider than my Jenson A540 so it'll be perfect.

Sounds good until you checkout stand prices.

Surely organisers could make a concession to the traders?
-
APF is held every 2 years and I've been to several over the years.
I think it would be a great opportunity to sell/market second hand machinery from individuals/contractors - they should create an area where you can trade items - think it would be popular anybody agree?
-
2007 and about 1250 hours. Are you about to make me a fantastic offer?
Sadly not, I've got the same machine 2013 model with 140 hours - just wondered what part ex Redwood had offered?
-
I reckon it will be the replacement for my A540di that Matt sold me.

What year is your Jensen and how many hours?
-
Spoke to Matt at Redwood Global today and understand the long awaited 8" Forst is being launched at the APF.
Anybody tried one out yet?
It's going to be a Forst to be reckoned with! 😉

Thanks for your interest Essex Arborist.
I do have large concrete pads within the wood (relics of the US airforce bomb storage infastructure). These would I imagine be perfect for siting a Lucas Mill or similar.
If I could accumulate a load of millable stems, would it be worth someone's while setting up their machine and milling many stems in one session? I would be looking to sell the stems to the miller. Any that were not wanted I would convert to firewood.
As stated, the stems offered in the original post are currently under negotiation with another member, but I am looking to set up a mutually beneficial long term relationship with someone. The wood is 200 acres so plenty of materual to go at.
I'd be interested in meeting up and see if we can strike a mutually beneficial deal.
-
I'd be interested if you don't have any success with other enquiries.
I have a Lucas mill but couldn't do it until late summer/autumn.

Anybody used the Alistec SC250 retails for £199?
Looks ok but like to know if its really any good?
-
Having recently taken down a large field oak and gone through 2 x 36" brand new chains I've decided to invest in a metal detector.
Can anyone recommend a good detector and provide video or web links?

We are looking for resistogragh service on a poorly Horse Chestnut in the Essex area.

All of you! Lol used it today on a site clearance and works like a dream

I removed the fuel tank, cleaned through the vent pipe, replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the mesh filter in the carb. Started on first pull and ticks over perfectly. Thanks again.

Bought a Mini Countryman for the misses last month and got a very good deal - deals are out there if you negotiate. If dealers don't want your business that's their choice but if you don't ask you don't get.
