Hi all,
I need a winch ready to use on some trees for a job on Tuesday, I'd like to buy one but struggling to find one to arrive by Monday now. Is anyone looking to sell one in the Derby area?
Many thanks,
Dan.
Did you winch a couple of trees into a woodland for robinsons in chesterfield

Not seen that one before!
Is it possible to repair? As will take my dealer a week to get one

Have found a crack the length (front to back) of the base of the exhaust running between the bolts, is this a common problem?
-
There's a product called Helicoil which repairs stripped threads, its an insert, you have to drill out the damage threads, re-thread and then insert the Helicoil. Supposedly works well
I've helicoiled stuff before but not a spark plug, as can imagine it has to be quite exact

Halls plant hire in Chesterfield have a couple they hire out, they've got a green waste tip too 👍
It's a forst they have but think it's over
£250 a day, it was over a year ago I looked at price list so it might have changed, and their only on sheepbridge

Have managed to destroy the threads ind the cylinder on my 660. Is it a case of replacing cylinder or can I replace threads somehow? Cheers for any help

I've got an silky ibuki you can have for £20 plus postage, never got on with it as much prefer zubat

yeah those 281's have massive compression, i used to run a 2101xp that was easy to start compared to a 281xp
I still run the 2101 xp. It's not for the faint hearted lol

Just before xmas I picked up a Stihl 029 super with a almost unused bar and chain for £85 off a police auction site, runs mint and I don't have to worry about it retuning itself when I put it down for a few minutes to clear some brash

Pawls are free and no sign of any damage, will check piston over wkd, is it possible for a saw to temporarily seize?
-
Turning with plug in, clutch is fine and rotates forward no problem. Just don't want to use saw and risk seizing it

A month or so ago, said saw (not mine) stopped working mid use, then seemed to be seized. Switched saws to finish job. Got round to looking at it today and it started up no problem at all. Thought I'd give it a bit of a clean as maintenance isn't big on the owners agenda. Whilst checking clutch and drum I realised its nearly impossible to rotate it anti- clockwise, it's ok for so far then gets really difficult then ok again. This isn't the case in the clockwise direction. Is this normal or has it a problem? Any help much appreciated

Had one about 3 months, really nice saw, BUT after a couple of weeks chain brake starts to stiffen up, to point were it became impossible to use. have had to take cover off and clean it out with compressor every few weeks.
Been meaning to ask if anyone else been having this issue

As the title says, I know there's one on eBay, but that's in the states. Was wondering if anyone knows where I can get one in uk, thanks
-
Am intrigued. So a groundie is £80-£100 a day with a couple of ticket! So what's a climber worth with half dozen tickets an actual qualification and 20 years experience ?

Still looking
What's just fallen out of my 201?

I had the same problem , but was caused by crack in exhaust heating plate and melting plastic around rivets. Had to drill out hole and use larger rivet
