  1. I reckon pretty much everyone on here must have a woodburner so I'm after some advice. I want one for a barn conversion, quite open plan so needs to be pretty big.
You could calculate the output of the stove you'd need by measuring your room and using an online calculator like this one Stove output requirement calculator , making allowances for the efficiency of the insulation you have.

I like the Efel Harmony stoves , and recommend their build quality.

  2. I had a good Japanese friend some years ago and his family, mine and another used to have a weekly dinner rotation. I loved going to his place because his wife was always persuaded to do a 'steamboat'. Google that if you've never tried it!
Ive googled it. Disappointingly its something to do with eating food.:laugh1:
  3. Why did the Baker have brown hands? because he needed a POO!
I had to google that one. It might have made more sense if it had been spelt "kneaded". It still wouldnt have been funny though.:001_cool:
  4. I agree with a lot of the recommendations so far : Leon , Ronin , Withnail and I , All the Cohen Bros films , Taken , Life of Brian , Four Lions , Harry Brown , Law Abiding Citizen , The Dragon Tattoo trilogy , Old Boy , All of Hitchcocks , to repeat a few.

Some others at random which I dont think have been mentioned : Invictus , Lawrence of Arabia , Taxi Driver , Gran Torino , Casino Royale , Quantum of Solace , Guy Ritchies Sherlock Holmes , Schindler's List , Apocolypto , Plunkett and Macleane.

Possibly the worst film ever made : Gacy House. A complete and utter waste of time.

  5. at the time (as a schoolboy) I thought the worst job in the world was having to sit on the gate of a bale sledge being pulled by a tractor baling straw. I did it all day , every dry day of the 6 week holidays for a few years , I think me and me brother were the only kids that didnt look forward to the school holidays. we came home looking like coal miners , but the funny thing is now I look back it doesnt seem so bad :001_smile:
