Isuzu, last one finally died with over 300,000 on the clock at least150,000 towing a trailer of some sort.Stay clear of the 3.0d unless it has had all the work done by Isuzu the3.1d is the best in my oppinion but they stopped that model in 1998 but you can stil find some well looked after ones for £1500 or less.I`ve had one since they first came into the country in1988 & am now on my 3rd SWB which I use for work & 4th LWB of personel use (1 got stolen ! ) Once drove back from Northern Italy to the UK in 23hrs towing a 7m trailer

At the start of the season was glad to see that a lot of my customers had taken the advice to order early to avoid dissappointment.Like most of the others on here Dec was manic I had to stop taking orders for Christmas a few days before still got the usual numpties phoning up christmas eve for delivery the next day, they seemed somewhat crest fallen with the answer of " A LACK OF PLANNING ON YOUR PART DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGANCY ON MINE ! merry xmas ":001_smile: The first few days of jan have been quite but it has been mild & people are getting their credit card bills arriving things getting back to normal now & we still have all of Feb & Mar to get thru yet

less than 100m3 left under cover already have 200m3 cut stored out side geting ready for next winter but looking for someone local with a processor to HP16 to hire out either with or without an operator

What amazes me is how many get away with not deducting the volume of their wheel arches from the "load", (or even that spare wheel chucked in underneath !)
Or a large custom made tool box that is just 1 log lower than the sides but takes up a 1/4 of the load area on a 3m transit tipper

YES THEY WILL BE BACK ! had our secure work shop broken into & took all the hand tools they could carry and sell cheap down the pub then came back within the month to take the mini digger & tool vaults which they couldn`t take on the 1st visit.Worst loss of all was my 1st tool box & tools which my late dad had got me when I started little value to them huge loss to me.The site now has cameras & remote alarm that comes straight to my phone all the local low lifes know how I will deal with anybody in the future, the police are a waste of time

I love this Weather!
There are so many positive aspects to it.If you can't/don't want to work in it then fair enough.Snow is expected here and you just have to prepare and drive accordingly.I tow a 2ton Trailer around the Hills Daily and in 4X4 with a pair of Chains in the back just in case its really no problem, just take it abit slower and use your Brain.I have yet to fail to reach a job, even it it means towing the Trailer loaded with gear in with the Tracked Chipper.
There is always a way.
Couldn`t agree more, what`s the problem.Got my BF m/ts fitted Fri just as the first of the snow hit the Chilterns spent Sat AM delivering logs with the 3t ivor williams & Sat PM pulling numpties up the local hill trying to keep the road open.Sun had to down grade to the 1t trailer as the council hasn`t got round to gritting our lane if last years performance is anything to go by should get done about April :001_rolleyes:But the snow & cold is great for buisness have sold nearly 200m3 already which is nearly as much as I did the whole of last winter :thumbup:still have another 100m3 in the barn keeping warm & dry happy days, merry christmas every one

quick tip, when you cut the bolt do so with the nut on the bolt then when you take the nut off it cleans the thread ready to go back on ;-)

Or you could ring up the over size timber & split them with a simple hydraulic splitter until they are the size you want, not much capital outlay(£500?) for the splitter minimal extra labour cost maximum return on your timber.

9000 - 10000 most days but did over 18000 on Sunday as my sister had the bright idea that we should visit all the sites on the London Monopoly board ! Took us 9hrs with lunch breaks, 9miles walking as well as public transport.![:001_smile:](//dcn6x9s7fzj11.cloudfront.net/emoticons/001_smile.gif.85de4dbf571682c521c1f17809dcc557.gif)
