No-ones' said it's in a Conservation Area or TPO'd. Not having a go at you, the OP doesn't seem to eb aware of teh legislative basis for removign dangerous trees, maybe thinking there is a requirement to remove dangerous trees.
Dunno, there is no way any of us have enogh information to say what should be done. if it is 1 metre shorter than its distance to the school access, why touch it?
God I hate to think that the fate of trees that have been around for maybe 50 or 100 years might rely on forum opinion.
Again, nothing to do with you, skyhuck, I just hit quote instead of reply.
So, egs, I'd say leave it alone unless you think it's probably going to fall over soon in conditions when there will be someone right underneath it. See all that callus, that means it's fighting back and is strong and supple around the decay. 35,000 days to grow, 1 day to cut it down.
Cheers for advice. I I'm going to contact the local T.O and ask his advice.

Hi had phone call off a customer today to have a look at this tree. Notice there was a fare bit of rot in the bottom any theorys as to what could have caused it. From other pics theres a few large wound. Do you recommend this is worth of a take down in conjunction with dead dieing or dangerous act. Tree is lying very near to a school access point

Has anyone on this site received any fines for works in a conservation area
-
This was the first time idealt with this council I wasn't aware of how they work. Presume the verbal agreement ment they wanted a quick turn around I have rep with my local council can I bring this up to show that I do everything by the book. My pruning cuts were where they had been previously cut
-
Verbal approval. As it was going to take 8 weeks. But they stated because it was on public footpath it undertake. Works before hand. Just about worried when they use the term prosecute
-
No letter. Got the number of the highways bloke. He was happy For me to close the path off.

Recently did some tree pruning to some trees which were in crouching on the public foot path in the city. I spoke to council. Who stated it wasn't tpo area but did have conservation. I said this job needed done immediately. As it was obstructing access. A verbal. Agree was reach that I could do the work. I even spoke to the highways team to close the footpath off while the work was undertaken
however a month down the line a planning enforcement office sends me a letter about the work saying they were not notify about the works and are liable to prosecute
Anybody had similar Experience. Never had this happen before

Well im abit short on timber so I checked the logs today and there finger light . They were stacked on pallets out side with a cover over the top and the sides exposed so the wind could get at them.

Costochondritis
in General chat
Posted
Hi.
A few weeks ago I developed pains in my chest and back after going to a+e I was diagnosed with Costochondritis. I can only presume I got this from spliting wood all day by hand. Anyways after 4 or days after and some naproxen it went. Yesterday I spent a day splitting again. Only to get the pains again today. has anyone had this condition wondering if there is any other treatments. Maybes have to buy a splitter. I'm just paranoid it may get worse and affect my climbing. I'm 24 with a clean bill off health.
Any advice would be much appreciated thanks
