  1. Well the big Elm succumbed to Eunice on Friday morning. Now the dilemma as to whether the remaining half can be pulled in, reduced / coppiced and kept or pull the whole thing down. Seems the trunk was actually two halves with very little knitting the two together.
  2. Still looking for someone who could come and inject if possible please!?
  3. Yes there's two patches like that fairly central and look from the ground small/isolated at the moment, there's been quite a few smaller trees around in the hedgelines that have all died and never been removed. it seems to be fairly resilient and given it's size ita done well but these two branches have turned in the last couple of weeks. If there's any way treatment might help then we're up for trying it
  4. Thanks guys yes moved a while back and not been in arb for a few years now.. The tree does seem to be well established. A couple of isolated very small branches have died back in recent weeks or at least the leaves have gone (can just be seen in the pic) Would it be worth injecting to try and be proactive against the beetle?
  5. Yes already some dead elms close by but long dead, bark gone. Mid devon/torridge border near Okehampton
  6. Hi All, In need of some advice with a large Elm tree in our garden, have concerns it may be suffering following the heat and would like to protect it if possible against DED, needs some more specialist attention/advice please, is there anyone with Elm experience based in Devon (or willing to travel to) that could come and have a look please?
