They are great boots! Stick with them! None better day in day out.

Can they be retro fitted?

Just get the Meindl Timber Cat boots with retractable studs...

I use a rope grab with mine, but you also need a small cut-away sling between the grab and your harness...for rescue.

I usually work on an average of 320kg/cbm, but if it gets wet then that goes up a bit. Some woods are heavier and you have to bear that in mind and act accordingly.

Looking at those pictures I'd say take it down and replant.

I would say never when there are any leaves on it. If you cut back the rootstock when replanting into a new pot, it will die if it has any leaves on it.

Bloody hell! Those are shocking!
My worst blades were when someone didn't bolt the anvil on properly...the anvil came loose and was fired through the hydraulic tank; almost out the other side.

I have had the odd customer order logs, deliver them as agreed and then they ask me to come and collect them again as they won't fit into their stove. All 10-12". They claim they can only fit 6" logs into their stove and they never thought to mention it! I had to cut the whole lot in half for them. Luckily just around the corner.

I used cheque plate to do mine and is plenty tough enough. Never had any damage with logs/chip. I would bolt on a plastic sign written outside if I did it again.

Get one and get a body made for the back with a toolbox built in. Great little truck.

There are many very professional tree surgeons out there who work to excellent standards who will be prepared to teach you on the job. We are not all cowboys!
On one of my climbing courses I was the only one who stuck the course as the 3 others found out they were either scared of heights or it wasn't for them. They spent their money and left on day 1!

The Bushnell HD Max are very good too but they won't send a photo to your phone. Perfect for putting in a tree over your machine.

With a big mulcher it is best to first collect all the roots etc into rows with a JCB, so the mulcher can fly through it all.

Oddly for this airline there was no weight limit for carry on, only a limit on size to fit in the overhead.
It wasn't the airline searching it obviously. At the the security.

If you are worried, then ring the airline before you go to check...

I flew with my rope, wire strops, all karabiners, pulleys, harness, throw bags, slings and spiderjack etc all in a big rope bag. They couldn't pick it up when they wanted to search it!
The chainsaw went in the hold though!
