  1. this tread is funny to read as gavin is married to my auntie and not so long ago worked with him for 3 years. what can i say really lol like it how he wants to offer his services for free but when you guys rip him he gets all moody (kiss kiss tossers) WHAT A WAY TO SHOW PEOPLE YOUR THE MAN FOR THE JOB PMSL

keep them coming i am loving it lol

  2. at the end of the day the boss is going to pay you as little as he thinks he can get away with.

one of my guys grumbles about his wage and all i say is 'if you would like i will pay you £1000 a week but your only have a job for 2 weeks'

    shuts them up

and why do i grumble ????????

  3. i will never forget when my groundy kept asking to do things in the evenings and weekends fishing golf etc

had to exsplain that i couldnt and that i have NO time for socialising or playing

and that to keep us busy i had to look at at least 5-10 jobs a week.

you guys understand most jobs are never over a days work so you have to look at, price up, and get at least 1 job every day.

we are not like other profesions ie builders who if lucky find themselves with 3months worth of work from 1 job

oh and yeah i agree shrek the pressure of paying wages which inturn finances other peoples lives is massive

my grondys been grumbleing about money lately.

what can i do ..... i cant control what he spends and on what

ive told him before that i will pay him 1000 per week but your be out of a job within 2 weeks

in regards to original post there is to many tree cutters out there and enough quality tree surgeons, the customer has to chose between the two

like it how the whole picture is not painted but we wont go there

  4. like the pic there boss can you email them to me so i can add them and were are the other ones?????????

and thanks to the golf course for the bacon sandwhich yum yum

see you in morning think of me working hard while your xmas shopping :001_tt2:

  5. I did a similar thing with the Unimog and all my kit in the centre of Guildford some years ago for The Surrey Advertiser, Woking Chambers of Commerce and The Prince's Trust.

Generated loads of business but you have to rely on interest in the kit to get talking to people.

If you have time make up some display boards and some leaflet dispensers.

    Good Luck :)

thank you all I will tell gavin tomorrow when I see him in the morning he also said that harwoods are also going to be outside the same day.

And iam sure he is getting some boards done in the near furture for when we go and park up in middle of town as another local guy did so fingers crossed

  6. Not a bad idea mate. However if they see you outside promoting the business with all the kit it could come across that you are not busy (i.e. not good)! I am not implying this of course and im sure you run a great business but it may be how Joe public think!

On the flip side it could be a great way, as you say, of getting the name out there. I would think Sat would be the best time as not a working day and will be most busy IMO.

However you go, good luck and let us know how you get on.:001_smile:

    Cheers

I agree with you that during the week people may think that. I will be there with gavin as the more work he gets in the more work i get .

not too sure if the saws should be on show only takes one person to have a go or find out were you live or see you on a job and try his/her luck something to think about gavin (boss)

  7. its been awhile i agree , you are as compitent as any on here mate..

its been a hard long time we have invested heavily in the business and now its time to give it back to the guys (you).

bring it on Mike we are the BEST keep it going.

    cheers boss

will work 110% and do what ever I can to make sure we are the best and keep the customers happy

see you in the morning breakfast is on you boss:thumbup1:

looking foward to adding to my skills and learning more

  8. I sell fishing tackle on ebay and I use turbo lister and have no problems with that as long as it gets updated every now and then also talking about firefox I have to use internet explorer to update pic on my web site .

    hope this helps

  9. the best thing you can do to prepare is download the assessment schedule from NPTC website and learn it and get someone to test you on all the criteria and turn up with an open mind to the course and try to relax and enjoy the course and try not to get worked up about the assessment

I have found this very good link I will be looking to do my cs30 soon I have been a groundy for 3/4 years have downloaded the cs30 assessment schedule and I think the boss will be happy that i am pushing to get it done.

thank you usefull link the usefull link will defo be going back when I do other assessments.
