  1. I am a surveyor with type 2 diabetes. If I know I am away from my van for any period I carry nuts and fruit as a precaution. Learn to recognise your symptons and advise people you work with what they may need to do if your levels go off and not any problem. It best to notify DVLA as well as insurance companies - if they policies are in place then the premiums should not change

  2. Don't forget cut and run - if a ship missed high tide they would cut the anchor rather than sit in port

Worth your salt - when salt was an expensive commodity it only went so far down the table, hence if you were valuable to the people you were worth your salt

S.H.I.T. is actually an acronym for ship high in transit, put on the packages of bird poo so they did not get put in the hold ( when wet an explosive gas is released and sailors went down with open flame causing an explosion)

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
