  1. We are currently recruiting an Arborist, your role will be to undertake various ground and ariel tree works in accordance to BS3998:2010 as part of a two man team.

You will ideally have (although we will provide training to the right candidate):

    CS30

    CS31

    CS32

    CS38

    CS39

    CS41

    Chipper training

    FAW+F

    Chapter 8 training

You will be proved with generous CPD training budget, full PPE and uniform, pension, healthcare and bonus package. Paye starting at £19k raising up to £25k after probation period.

To find out more please email [email protected]

  2. Gotta be better than the van in yer profile pic! Cabstar is ideal or an Isuzu Grafter .

That van got my business of the ground, I owe it everything. I replaced it with a new Hilux and was the biggest mistake I've ever made! Now selling Hilux and buying another Berlingo.

  3. £1k cheaper for chassis cab, £5k to put body on. Money is not really the concern here, it comes down to image, usability and ease of converting. Tipper seemed like a good idea as could get it to work ASAP and I could worry about getting professional body if we ever get quite. But it would look a little cheap and thrown together compared to Landy.

  4. I'm in the process of purchasing a new vehicle and am interested in the thoughts and opinions of owners of the Nissan Cabstar. I will be purchasing a new one, more than likely with a tipper already on it. Is there any conversion problems with aftermarket full arb bodies? Or is it easier with chassis cab.

  7. Hi Matt,

ATV or Quad won't be any good in this area. I tried it a few years ago and found the lack of weight meant traction is a problem over 250kg, and forget hills both up and down.

I settled on this in the end all in about £30k, it won't make you a millionaire and is not a stand alone business but working alongside other crews and resources it can make a difference on certain jobs.

    Hope this information helps.

on another note the number of times i have passed through wheddon x on the way down to see Les down at timberscombe quarry and didnt realise your base was up there :thumbup:

Hi Shavey, we have just moved location from Porlock to Wheddon Cross so I can be closer to home. Yes it's is very white but on purpose as this is our company colour. I don't think I know Les but do you mean Reg Holcolmbe who does the chainsaw maintenance.

  10. -I don't see the point of the "page in front"? why, what does it add?:001_smile:

-On the top of each page page you refer to yourselves as both "Sheasby Tree Surgey"

-On the emergency page you offer "piece of mind" to your customers. Unless you do a sideline in brain surgery "peace of mind" is probably more suitable.

-On the tree surgery page, the first sentence is grammatically odd: ...best for trees environment...

-On Crown thinning, should it be "tree's crown" not "trees crown"

I'm a bit of a pedant, so my wife tells me...:blushing:

Hi Rover. I don't understand first point can you elaborate, other points I have never been good at spelling or grammar so appreciate the input and ill work to improve it. Anything else I have missed please let me know.
