Congratulations Glen and Tim!
I know your pain getting through this qualification, and I am also overjoyed to add to the celebrations and advise that I finally passed the dreaded Unit 5 after a re sit this year and now hold the Full Tech Cert. too!
I got my certificate etc on Thursday and am still buzzing! A lot of hard work as you all know, but seriously worth it....especially now its all over!!
Like both of you, it feels like I can finally take this Tech Cert anvil off my shoulders!
Thanks a lot also to all of you here who gave tips and support over the last 2 years.
Well done guys.
Chris.

Good luck Glen and everyone else doing theirs.
I'm there on Friday for a re sit of Unit 5. Hopefully I have found (at least) the missing 3% I failed on last year!
I'll be so glad when this is all over...

Hi Warhammer,
Well done on getting through 3 of 4. Exactly the same for me but i missed out on the 5837 exercise by 3% which is a bit hard to swallow.
im trying to find out for certain if the re sits are in Oct 2011 which, if true, is a bit crap imo.
im sure i heard they would be running re sits in May but that may have changed.
i will post if i get some clarification.

HI all,
I took these pics last week as a client had some concerns. its on a mature Scots pine.
My thoughts initially were gall rust although the area affected didnt appear swollen. Ive looked it up everywhere but im still not 100% certain and would like to be sure before i advise on what action to take.
it was only evident on the lowest lateral limb, i couldnt see it anywhere else in the crown following a climbed inspection.
Cheers in advance for any help

Thanks all,
Cavity is the wrong word sorry. The fruiting bodies are growing on the exposed wood. I guess the defect is more of a split or some type of mechanical damage which runs vertically up the stem about 2m. New bark is occluding round.
Cheers all for your help, sorry the pics arent great, i need a new camera!
