A friend of mine heats the water for his lambing shed in a similar way. Mucks out one of the cattle sheds and makes a nice big pile with about 50m of alkathene pipe buried in the middle. One end on to main supply, tap on basin in shed. Thing is, he is only using small quantities at a time. Rather like geothermal, I think you would need hundreds of meters of pipe in the heap to maintain the temperature but hey, anything that is free is worth a bit experiment.

Been trying to do the same thing this morning instead of playing in wet snow. Try your county council HR department, they offered some suggestions relevant to my situation.
Hope that helps.
Cheers.

Would the exhaust valve not seating and fully closing cause these symptoms ? Contamination of oil perhaps ?

You sold it in good faith and he thought he could grab a bargain. He paid his money and made his choice.Regretfully decline his request for refund!

Might be worth giving Lloyds at Carlisle a ring. They are the Etesia dealers over that way I think. Worth it for parts anyway.
Cheers.

To answer other question - the mower is exactly 4' wide but is about 10' long. I can post full dimensions if it will help. let me know.

I have used 124D for five seasons now. Bought it new and have had very few problems.
Lombardini is a common rail engine which some dislike, but mine has never given any problems, however I do change fuel filters twice a season to be on safe side. I agree with above - nothing else can touch them for performance in long, wet grass.

Been using a Thor for over a year now for my own use and some sales.
Seems to handle most stuff and is very safe for others to use if I'm away.

Couldn't pull up web last night.

with most of the chip produced by our work being green, I did consider running it through a second hand mobile grain dryer to get the moisture content down before storage and to prevent it heating in the shed. However costs were going to be prohibitive so back to having to chip designated seasoned lenghts. ho-hum.
