  1. Hi.

Posting this for a friend who discovered some very odd looking hazelnuts.

"I have no idea what's going on here. These are Hazelnuts, but there were loads of them split with these massive black things inside them. I don't know if they've just rotted, if this is some attacking fugus, some gall, or something else."

Any ideas? Fascinating whatever it is.

  2. Hi

Can anyone tell my why NJUG 4 does not recommend using builders sand around roots when resurfacing?

Is it because of the possibility of contaminants (lime/salt) or because it has less pore space than sharp sand and would therefore defeat the object of creating an oxygenated layer beneath a compacted surface?

  3. Thanks. Haven't approached any of them yet as it would have taken quite a while to go through the list. Myerscough will be my first point of contact. Will let you know the result, in the mean time if anyone knows for definite that it is possible and where please let me know.

    Cheers

  4. Hi all.

I have a HND in arboriculture (since 2005) and want to top up to a full degree but the only way I'm going to be able to do this is through distance learning. Does anyone know if any of the colleges or universities offer it through distance learning?

    Thanks
