  1. Hi Bob,

The prices for the car ferry go dramatically up during the summer season, plus it is very advisable to book your salings in advance. Here is the link to Cal Mac, the ferry operators:

For campsites, you could check-out these:

    ArranOnline.com - Bridgend Campsite

    Don't forget your anti-midge spray.......:-))

  2. Steve,

I am suffering a problem when I try to access the forum.

I type in the usual http://www.arbtalk.co.uk to my browser, see the first page briefly before the browser flicks onto page " http://www.arbtalk.co.uk/profile.php?do=dst " and an error message saying this page cannot be found.

After about 10 attempts the browser stops at the first page and everything is fine.

  3. I'll call you on Monday Charles, If that is suitable.

  4. "There must be some regular delivery vehicles to Arran who could return with a load? Might need some basic packaging. I'm not far from you on the mainland. Perhaps we could work something out? "

We have looked into several options for freight across to Ardrossan, there are timber lorries going out loaded and looking for loads back to Arran - No good. Local hauliers are very good at planning loads both ways, however cheapest seems to be by bulk tipper.

So if you are interested in 15 tonnes of seasoned split logs in bulk.............

Where are you based, are you in the log supply business? Are you interested in a business proposition, eg take in solid wood and produce logs to deliver locally? We could send you over a log processing machine.....

  5. Hi Rob,

    Thanks for your reply.

We could have 25 bags on an artic in SW Scotland (M74) for around £60 per bag (full cubic meter vented bags). Additional cost from there to the Liverpool area, I'm not sure, would it be worth me finding out, or are we nowhere near the right ball-park cost for you?
