Did you have fun monday, John ?
was it one nil to the greens?

As a well established arb machinery dealer we tend to see every type of chipper you could possibly think of, some are good and some are bad, but i would agree that most of the chippers comming in from europe are of a high standard of engineering, only their paintwork seem to be suspect.
however, should we not be supporting british manufacturing in these hard times, one of the reasons we are in this mess, is our in-ability to see how good we really are at research, design and manufacturing. Tony Turner (Greenmech) and Richard Marshall (Timberwolf) have produced some fantastic products over the years, and i know we will see some exciting new machines launched from both of them over the comming months and years.
British chippers are supported by the most comprehensive dealer networks that anybody could need, if you need a demo ring your local dealer, you will in most cases get a demo within 48hrs, we don't need to go on tour.
Were BRITISH so lets support BRITAIN.

Hi chaps, if you give Mark a ring at Global Sales (0121 7068617) he has a kit that replaces all the old switches in the original box for sensible money.

Hi everybody,
In these hard times we are expanding our business, which is good new for you.
As a leading Forestry/Tree surgery and Groundscare machinery dealer based in Solihull, with close links with major manufactures like Greenmech and Kubota, we have a need for a talented person to take over the roll of General Manager of our busy Solihull based showrooms, parts and service centre.
We are looking for a keen team player, who has a good eye for quality and service, must be computer literate, must be able to implement quality systems and control data flow at all times, it would also help to have a good knowledge of all things mechanical ( and a very good sense of humour ).
If would like to have an informal chat, please contact me on the following numbers.

Just a quick note to this that pete hasn't said, but due to an admin cock up with his insurance sharks non of the the kit apart from the LR was covered. This could have been far worse as he also had a 19/28 Greenmech SafeTrack in the yard that they could not get away with quickly so was left, I suggest that everybody double check their policies are fully in force as thefts will only increase as the economy gets harder.
Pete if you need a loan of a road tow chipper, please give me a ring as i have a few p/ex around the yard that you can use.
Andy.

Well done Kev, hard work and dedication will allways win through, i''ll support you as much as i can.
Don't get offended by the negative remarks, in these hard times you need to shout good news from the roof tops and pat your own back, because nobody else will.

Hi Dave,
The snow beat me to-day for the photos, but should be able to get some shots in the w/shop in the morning and i will e-mail the pics & specs for the 2 machines.

Oh and another quick point if you bearings fail on your 190 please please please do not carry on running it to finish the job, as the bearings have a habit of spinning in the rotor we then have to machine the rotor oversize and press in a sleeve then machine back to bearing size, and this takes time and money non of use can afford at the moment.
-
Just another quick point about bearings, if the rotor is set up correctly you should never need to hit the bearing carrier to get the rotor to spin, all you end up doing is inducing side loading on the race which 50hrs later will fail, do it right first time, and remember set this all up correctly and you should get a much longer life out of the bearings
-
You would think TW would have got it right with the 190 but sadly it's not the case, the bearings still fail at surprisingly low hours !
Please everybody do not heat the shaft up it's not a good idea, we have been removing these shafts for many years and only ever had to heat one, we then replaced the shaft as a matter of course, shafts that have localised heating can cause all sorts of stress built up within the shaft, it then has withstand some major loads while working.....would you risk it ?
Bent flywheel?!
in General chat
Posted
A: The shaft will bend before the rotor distorts
B: Sounds as if the no stress has been by-passed, a common Timberwolf issue
C: 190 Timberwolfs need sharp anvils to work correctly
As a Timberwolf specialist and ex dealer we have seen most disasters through our workshop, and we have never seen a £6k bill.
If you want some honest independant advice feel free to ring me during work hours.
