Thanks to everyone who has posted or sent me an email. There's been a lot of interest and unfortunately I'm not going to have time to reply to everyone, but I assure you that all messages will be read and noted.
If you could provide details of where you are based, area you can cover, and your rates in your emails that would be great.
Thanks again for all the interest, and feel free to contact me should anyone require any advice with regard to bats in trees.

Hi Crozier and Adam,
Sorry, we don't undertake much work in Scotland. But I shall contact you should anything crop up.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
We work on projects all over the UK, so are looking to build a network of local contractors who we could use on jobs in their area. If you can make it Sheffield, that's great, but otherwise we would organise meeting you on site or picking you up along the way.
We have a project coming up over the next week or so in the Wetherby area, not quite local to Skipton, but if you're interested give me a call or drop me an email with your contact details and rates.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Hi all,
At Access Ecology Ltd, we undertake ecological surveys and design mitigation strategies for Natural England protected species licences. As an ex-tree surgeon holding a bat worker licence, I run our Arborist Support Team providing ground-based and aerial surveys of trees to ascertain the presence or absence of bats and nesting birds.
To comply with H&S we're looking for casual sub-contractors to accompany our ecologists on aerial surveys. We don't undertake tree surgery works but ask that our contractors have 'Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue' certification as a minimum, we can supply climbing kit if necessary. Contractors would assist in climbing the trees and recording findings on field survey sheets.
We are based in South Yorkshire but work across the country so please feel free to provide me with your contact details wherever you may be based.
My contact details are below and I look forward to hearing from you,
Jonathan Moore

I've recently moved to Sheffield to do an MSc in Environmental Management and am looking for 1 or 2 days work a week in the South Yorkshire/Derbyshire area to help pay the bills.
I've got over 4 years experience in the Leicestershire/Rutland area of climbing, pruning, reductions, felling etc and forestry work for country estates, local authorities, residential properties and I've even done some plantation work in Australia! I'm also experienced in running the smaller jobs and have trained up new employees.
Qualifcations:
BSc in Enviromental Conservation
ND in Countryside Management
City & Guilds in Arboriculture
Relevant NPTC certificates
Full driving license
I've also got my own MS 200, PPE, rope and harness.
I'm available for regular work or even just the occasional day if you've got a big job on or need sick cover.
Presently I'm available Monday, Wednesday, Friday and weekends. So if you think I may be able to help you out, get in contact.
Thanks,
Jonny Moore

Hi,
I'm a qualified, experienced climber and groundsmen looking for part-time work in North Wales. I'm currently studying for a degree at Bangor University so am available for 1-2 days during term time and full time over the Easter, Summer, Xmas holidays.
I'm willing to work in either forestry or arboriculture and have got my own PPE, climbing gear and MS200. I've got a friend who's got his chainsaw/felling tickets, so we could possibly form a small gang for weekend work.
Please get in touch if you have, or know of anyone else who has work available in the Gwynedd/Anglesey/Conwy area.
Thanks
Jon Moore
Bats, a very special and rare treat today

Great video!! Did well to keep up with the little beggar!!
We've had several reports recently in South Yorkshire of bats flying in the middle of the day, so its not an uncommon seeing them darting about in daylight. Noctules leave their roosts quite early and are often recorded emerging around 30 minutes before sunset.
With regard to bats over the channel, there's been recent sightings of bats on North Sea oil rigs!! They're known to migrate on the continent, but in the UK we currently know very little about migration patterns across the country or to and from the continent. They can also get blown off course in storms.
Bat Groups keep records of sightings so please feel free to post/message me with any you come across and I'll pass them on.
