I was also a member of 'The Guild of Master Craftsmen'. In my opinion they just want you to pay for the use of their logo.
Give them three refrences who got phone calls asking if I was any good....but never checked.
Never felt that I got any more phone calls or work from it.....so never carried on paying to be a member.

I had a yell.com ad for 2 years and from memory I got 4 enquiries from it. Personally I'd stay well clear. Same goes for 118247...............what a crock
Only my opinion though deer man
I'd agree. Nothing wrong in having a free listing tho......as long as you don't mind the calls that you WILL get selling insurance advertising etc.

Did you have a chipper on?

Unfortunately Steve, once a tree has been topped / pollarded it is usually difficult in getting it back to anything like it's former glory. Sometimes you can thin out the heavier branches to leave some form of crown that can cope with wind bearing effects (the topping/pollard points will be weak).
Admire the fact that you are spending the time trying to sort it tho.

Mark, I bought a site which cost me £380 and it was cr*p. Had to trawl through about six pages to find my site.
Decided to do my own website Welcome Page Once you have a website get a free listing on yell.com and any other sites you can. The downside is that you might also pick up more phone calls from people trying to sell you insurance, windows etc.
GOOGLE - Tree Surgery CT10
I'll be at the top of the page. More importantly above BILL .....lol
Then click on my name ACORN TREE SURGERY you will see my site.

Lovely dog.....don't fancy the food bill tho.....lol

Cheers fellas.
The reason I was intrested in the answer is that I have very little knowledge of working with MEWPs. However I see others using them knowing they have NO climbing tickets and think, that can't be right.....but was not sure.

I might not want to talk to the AA direct, although I appreciate AA teccies input to my thread.
If this is in the wrong place, then I'm sure it will be moved.
-
I'm not doom and gloom about the industry or the AA. Yes things are quiet at the minute, but you just need to deal with it.
I would think that most councils and highways agencies have heard of the AA as a recognised body, therefore if you are a member it may help you secure work/contracts.
I find that other commercial people don't care if you are a member of a recognised body.
In 'MY' experience people are more interested in the bottom line than your qualifications these days.

They could rig it straight down into some of their skips Macca.
Ouccccch.....lol
-
Won't be there. I hope to be watching my lad passing out of his Royal Marines training in Devon......Have a good one tho.
-
No there isn’t, shouldn’t be any need if your using the correct sized MEWP.
Even if the lumps are being rigged down using the tree as a crane?
-
Welcome mate....here you can for sure, learn something every day.
-
Is there a CS41 equivilent qualifiaction to dismantle a tree using a MEWP? I know a tree company who does this, although has NO climbers at all.
-
Take your time....and think about the consequences of every move before you make it, and all will go well.
Write the job off, it's about your reputation now.
-
LOL......Yeh no problem Mark. My international charges are very reasonable.
-
This is where I got mine.......but these are not the same as the ones I bought last year.

2 days drive to Morocco (approx 1500 miles) two drivers in each vehicle.
12 Days in Morocco covering approx another 1500 miles.
2 Days drive back.
We have given ourselves the flexibility of taking an extra days drive through France and Spain or another couple of days in Morocco if we do the drive in two days.
