  1. Just now, spudulike said:

You need to use a paint brush and white spirit on the dirty parts, put the saw in to a booth, box, large card board box etc and use an air line, anything else is just slow and laborious. You need to be a bit smarter to catch as much crud as you can but it still gets everywhere.....!!

Yes my wife pointed that out !!

  2. Struggling to remove the flange on the bottom feed roller ,where the hydraulic pump connects to the roller. The pump shaft isn't worn just the female end on the roller. I've removed all of the bolts but can't seem to split it. Is the answer to weld a nut on and have a go with a slide hammer? Or is there an easier way?

  3. Sort of

I use a 3 inch bit of wire to hot wire the terminals in the plug

    much cheaper to replace

I have been shorting across the terminals with short lengths of wire as well ! But I'm fed up with little bits of wire every where, and find that the terminals corrode fairly quickly, which always seems to be an issue at the end of the day generally when its lashing down with rain!!

  4. What do you mean by died? I need a crankshaft that's OK as an 026 I have at the moment has has the thread snapped off by an over enthusiastic tightener!

It's been repaired but not very successfully, continually cutting out bits I think have been replaced off of a different saw air filter no longer stays on av mounts coming loose choke switch not making contact etc. Maybe died was a bit strong but not sure if it's worth getting it into a dealer to get it back up and running properly.
