  1. Thanks Mike, glad I asked! If Saturn are using different steel to the manufacturers, don't fancy it. Do they do this (different steel) with others blades they offer like the Vermeer? Sorry to trouble you but you've obviously got the inside track on really important info!
  2. Thanks Sky! Mike as dealer do you use and sell Saturn blades for Schliesing? What's the cost difference between Saturn and 'orig'? My mate runs Vermeers and he's interested as well. Do Saturn make Vermeer blades and would you recommend those? Thanks!
  3. Can you recommend them for my Premier(Schliesing). Is there a good price difference between the Saturn and Schliesing blade? I'd like to save money too!
  4. Domestic, a nice Beech T/D to clear building plot land plus some conifer hedging. The customer is something fairly high up in the council though........
  5. I've just been undercut (significantly) on a quote by what the customer is telling me is "a fully qualified" gang from what used to be East Germany. I'd cut the quote to the bone to get the job as well. Anyone else bumped into cheap EU labour? I'm 20 miles east of Leeds.
  6. Here’s an emotive subject as we approach Remembrance Day Although it commemorates the Commonwealth dead from all conflicts, the main points of reference are of course WWI and WWII. Are we right to continue with the event? Isn’t it all in the past and in Europe we’re all friends now? Even if the only motive is to honour the dead, are we raking up the past by doing so? Or an opposing view – Should we stand up and not only recognise their sacrifice but also remember the circumstances that made it necessary? Why should we bow to political correctness with the “all in the past” gloss over when it fact it’s all in living memory and not so long ago at all?
