How did I insult 95%!?! What's wrong with being a student?? This is a great place for them. Like I said earlier too, you can put yourself into the 5% if you like.
I don't really see the need for another thread either. What's gonna go underneath it!!? No questions allowed!
-
Ha! Nice one!
Sorry to have hijacked a thread (to be honest, if no questions should be asked, then the thread wasn't actually have any other content!).
The lad asked a question that he had no need to ask. Just as 15 people (I don't know an actual number and can't be arsed to count) had no need to tell him that he didn't need to ask the question. They certainly didn't need to call him an idiot!?
-
I'll stop commenting now. I never could ignore bullies.
It's a character flaw.
-
80 or 15%?
You can decide for yourself! I only put the '5% decent lads in so that any non students could put themselves there. If you think you're an arsehole, then that's up to you and your own karma!
-
Is that it?
Poor squiggle got called an idiot and everything! I just get pointed in the right direction? That's a bit unfair.

Hi, I have no intention of applying for this job but noticed that you haven't included a rate of pay in your advert? It might be helpful to those that might want to apply for this position to know what you are offering. Some very good climbers may apply for the position if you are offering the right money.
Just a thought. Like I said, I've no interest in the position but just trying to offer an opinion.
Thanks.

Think your so far off the point of this thread. If you cant follow simple instructions how can you expect to be employed?Mikes first post tells you all you need!
Ok, yeah. Fair point.
-
Sooooo that has to beg the question, which category do you fall into?
Well......
The 5% of course.
-
Well this website hasn't changed much! It always was 80% students/noobs, 15% arseholes and 5% decent lads.
Ignore them squirrel fella. Folk should advertise their jobs on arbjobs if they don't want asked questions.

I've dismantled a couple of big redwoods. The first was torture! Every branch was just touched with a silky and exploded. You do that a couple of hundred times until you get to the top and you're thinking 'what the hell is this gonna do!?' Then it just comes off like any other top! Awesome fun though
-
I've climbed hundreds of dead trees and found perfectly live trees that I wouldn't go near. It's kinda up to you.
-
If you could send your cv and details through to this address [email protected] , at the moment I need people with utility background but we are always looking to take on other peeps and start from scratch with them, we offer the training and sort all assessments required.
Cool, I'll send you a cv when I've updated it!
Cheers

Hi, I can survey trees but have no experience of power line work. Would it be worth applying?
-
Thanks very much lads, I'll get on to billy barden!

Hi all, I'm looking for someone to give me a quote for biomass chipping in Cumbria, a couple of hundred ton at a time? Anyone know how much I should be paying??
I haven't a clue about it and just need a rough idea. Feel free to pm me a price (preferably by the metre) if you don't want to write it here.
Thanks in advance!
-
I never look for the best deal, I buy from the first place that has the item that I want and just pay whatever they ask for!
That's really bad isn't it?
-
Does anyone know where I can hire a 23-25m tracked mewp in the north east?? The closest I can find is Derbyshire, and the delivery cost is killer! Closest to Newcastle would be best.
Thanks in advance, Craig.

Anyone got a good photo of phytophthora ramorum on rhododendron leaves??
-
Make sure you put any leaflets into envelopes though.
Then they have to be opened and not just discarded as a pizza menu!!
-
Decent quality leaflets can be a very good source of work. Go through the yellow pages and send one to every company that might need an arborist. It doesn't take long, your skipping all of the plumbers and sparkys. Anything environmental listed, schools, old folks homes, anywhere with important targets for trees to fall on!
I don't know what you do, but splitting logs is only gonna get more popular, get an Alaskan mill and make stuff in your down time. Maximising profits from what you have and paying off any finance so that you don't need to work as much can only be good things to do.
You could diversify other ways too. Tree surveys or specialist weed control are good earners.
-
Attila is the daddy! They really are good!
-
Does sound like a days work to me. I had a similar day yesterday with an hours drive between the two trees.
I'd forget all about it if I were you. I'll often offer to give people the numbers of other contractors, they rarely take them and they never ever phone them.
-
how much you lookin for cheif? what part of cork?
I'm not in cork anymore, sorry, keep meaning to change that. The sign is in Cumbria. The lad will post it though. I'll check with him and pm you his number.

I had special track on a different vitara! They're savage! The car literally bounced like the wheels were 50p shaped!
