Hi Tommy I often use toy animals when I do animal carvings. The German Toy firm Schleich makes some fantastic models, they are very detailed and realistic. See this link:http://www.healthstones.com/farm_life_store/schleich_toy_horses_models/schleich_toy_horses_models.html
  2. Yes Tommy I posted that carving on Jamies Forum as well. Klaymeb visit some of the UK carvers learn from them. Go to some of the events, watch, talk, learn. Try for yourselves, the worst thing that can happen is a pile of firewood instead of a carving. Practise, practise, practise and if that doesn't help them more practise
  3. Love it Tommy Are you coming to Ridgway this year?
  4. Under the left foot is the handle of the knights sword. Don't think of horses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Me hand carving at the mideval festival:
  6. Thanks. The eagle is standing on a knights shield, sword and helmet. On the shield is the danish boyscout logo. In our hometown there is a large mideval festival each year and the scouts earn a lot og money selling food for the public. We needed an eyecatcher and I carved the eagle

12 replies in less than half an hour WOW. Carving is a hobby. I'm a forester teaching young lumberjack-wannabees. I'm not climbing, I'm much better standing on the ground shouting. Yes the head is a little big - the costumer wanted the horse to be as big as possible, so I made a big head so the horse seems bigger than it is.
  12. Hi As a kind of introduction of myself I'd like to present one of my latest carvings.
