  1. Should have rephrased it sorry, I'll be contacting the HA and they can bring it up with their contractor
  2. The photos might be a little misleading, but they did go down pretty deep. The tree is 100% mine, there are a few sycamores on the street, pretty much every 2 houses, but originally every house had one in the corner of the garden. I don't know enough about tree care etc, but I'm siding with having it removed, at the contractors cost! Only because of the conflicting advise, think it might be best to side with worst case scenario, even though there's a chance it could be fine Im selling the house in the next couple of months, so a potential buyer may also have difficulty getting a mortgage approved if their surveyor looks at the tree roots! Thanks for the all the advise, I'll keep update on what happens
  3. Im the landlord of the property the tree is on, it's the housing association that own the property next door that had the work done. That's why I'm a little concerned at the work they did
  4. Its a pretty large tree
  5. I've checked and there isn't a TPO
  6. I'll be contacting them this week. My concern now, is the housing association who authorised the work, might try and bill me for the 3 paving flags that it lifted Guess that's cheaper than having the tree cut down though, which I'm guessing will be their cost
  7. Yes i was thinking that myself. Tree is on my property, I believe. It's on the boundary but more on my side Wasn't any communication from the contractors who did they work though
  8. Good evening Just joined the forum after doing lots of googling looking for advice I have a large sycamore in the front of my rental property, the large roots at the bottom have started lifting my paving slightly, I went to the property to have a look and noticed that next door neighbours (housing association) ha ve had contractors in to relay some of the paving, the tenant wasn't aware, the housing association have authorised the work The contractors has used a stump grinder and removed lots of the root at the bottom, about a foot down. I've had a mate who's a tree surgeon look at it, and he thinks it's potentially made the tree unsafe! I've added a couple of pics for info, I'm concerned now that the tree could pose a danger to mine and next doors property? What do you think is the right move now, is it safe? Should I have it taken down? Talk to the housing association who authorised the work? I hope this is the right place to post Cheers Steve
