Hi, not sure if this is the right place to answer my question. I have a few trees in my garden. Two of them see to have some kind of fungus. Tree no1 I think is a lilac tree. It appears to have been cut back for a fence but blooms with lovely blossom in the spring and otherwise appears healthy. Tree no2 I’m unsure what it is. Could be a cherry blossom, someone told us a Japanese Maple but not sure. Again it blooms beautiful red leaves throughout summer but has these brown patches on the bark. They are hard and come off in big pieces. In between these we have conifers with Ivy around the lower trunk which seem healthy. I guess my main question is, is this a problem for the trees and is it a problem for our garden rabbits. Secondly we have plenty of birds nesting and living in and around the trees. Pigeons, Magpies, Blckbirds, Robins and a few types of Tit. So we don’t want to remove them if we don’t have to. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
