I should have made it clear, picture 1 and 2 are different loads from different places, might be the same though

So I took some of the (outer?) Bark off and there was a sort of reddish colour underneath. The split ones are picture 2 so not red in the middle.

This is great news 😁 It split really easily so fingers crossed its Ash, 6 months to season you reckon. I've got it off the ground and covered

Hello. New to the forum, I have been lucky enough to have access to a fair amount of felled trees. Silver birch being one of the species. Could someone help with identifying the following two? I have already split them. A friend thinks they might be Alder Thanks in advance
