Interesting and only comment I could add would be regarding the woodland trust banging on about planting native trees, I'm no expert but to my mind the aim should be to achieve maximum amenity, biodiversity and value; ruling out non native immediately limits that.

 

For example where Sequoia has been planted on the old estates there are fantastic specimen trees, if WT get their way those and similar species will disappear from UK and I don't really understand why they would want that.
