General Manager – Utility Arboriculture – Devon/Cornwall

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

 

Due to significant new business and internal progression we now have the above vacancy based at our Launceston office. The successful candidate will be a proactive business manager who will be able to offer significant operational, financial and commercial management to one of our most successful partnership. Glendale has been working with Western Power Distribution for over 20 years and carries out £2.5m p.a. of arboriculture services across the majority of Cornwall and North Devon.

 

Supported by a team of Service Delivery Managers and Supervisors, employing over 60 arborists and surveyors delivering complete vegetation management to over 3,000km of power lines this flagship contract offers a significant opportunity for a senior manager to further their career, with the previous post holder now at Director level in the company.

 

Reporting to the Regional Director the successful candidate should be qualified in arboriculture, forestry or similar to degree level with significant experience in delivering large utility/vegetation management contracts. You will need to work to both Glendale and client processes and procedures ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards, whilst maintaining tight control of costs.

 

In addition, you will need to have excellent time management and administrative skills with the ability to work in a demanding environment with a strong health and safety culture, excellent people management & communication skills and attention to detail.

 

The ideal candidate will hold natural leadership qualities; innovation and enthusiasm required for this senior position and will be a key member of the regional management team.
