We just tie an overhand knot in the climbing line about 2 feet back from the end and then Icicle Hitch our throw line 1 to 2 inches in from the end of the line. Pull the climbing line through the friction hitch as normal. Once you pop the large ring through the crotch pull the climbing line out of the tree using the throw line to control the decent of the friction saver.
