Help needed to identify splitter

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and I apologise if this is a random question. I'm hoping someone can help me identify the make of firewood splitter I used to use in the 90s in the UK. There's not much to go on, but I hope someone could help as I'd like to try and track one down - I've never used anything like it, and would very much like to find one. I'll describe as many key features as I can, and then hope that it jogs someones memory!

We used it on 3 point linkage of a fordson major. It had a PTO hydraulic pump and reduction gear. It was vertical with a T-shaped blade that cut and sheared lengths that you pushed down a chute, which folded out from the machine, but we mostly used it for splitting rings which it may not have been intended for. The ram probably was about 6" overall diameter, with a stroke of 12" to 14" ish. It was operated by a sort of treadle down the side which you were supposed to press by hand, but could get your foot on it. It also auto-returned as soon as you stopped pressing. Was red, like most of them are...

Really hoping one of you experts can help, I've trawled pictures on the net, and haven't found one anything like, but I'd know it as soon as I saw it!

Thanks.

Hi Matty, thanks for the reply. Had a look at the browns log chop guillotine. Not sure if that's the one you mean, but the machine I used was much bulkier and taller than the ones I have seen pictures of. Sorry my description is so vague. Any other ideas anyone?
