Beech leaf minor?

Visited a client with "leaves dying" today, which I diagnosed Beech leaf mining weevil. He then took me into the rear garden which had a Purple Hazel and Wild Cherry both with the same problem. Is this common to effect all other trees at a property as I thought it attacked mainly only beech? (hence the name!)

The first pic shows the Beech hedge and second the Hazel with same symptoms...any suggestions?
