I am self employed at the moment but was thinking of picking up a weekend employed driving job just for a little extra and to keep my hand in driving a truck! just wondering how it would affect me i.e tax etc

Should be fine. You'll pay basic rate tax on your employed job. Then you just add the figures from your P60 on the employed pages of your tax return.

That's how it worked when I did some part time work on a high ropes course.
