Hi

I would like some advice on which basic climbing gear to go for, for basic tree climbing work.

I'm currently going through my CS38/39 and will need my own gear once completed the course & passed the assesment

What make of harnesses and ropes etc are the best value?

Many thanks

I would try out what they have to offer on the course and get a feeling for what you like out of the kit available on the course and make your own decision based on that. After you have done your training head down to an arborist shop and try out what they have to offer and what fits your budget.
