Lantra Awards is a leading Awarding Organisation for land-based training and qualifications.

 

We are seeking applications on a contractual basis from forestry and arboricultural specialists with strong people skills to be a part of our team of external verifiers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Lantra Awards to set the standards in our instructor and assessor network.

 

To be considered you should:

 

be technically proficient in either forestry and/or arboriculture

be committed to high technical standards in the industry

be able to make judgements about performance in others

be able to give advice and guidance about your area of expertise to others

be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing

hold relevant qualifications and training

hold or working towards relevant trainer/assessor awards and experience of training/assessment

maintain a high level professionalism in conduct and service

considerable experience in forestry and/or arboriculture.

 

Duties will include:

 

ensuring that training and/or assessment is carried out in accordance with any requirements set by Lantra and to the best industry standards

that instructors technical and instructional ability is monitored where training is the object of verification

participating in standard setting and implementing the agreed standards

monitoring performance to consistent standards and raising actions or sanctions if necessary

undertaking administrative tasks such as report writing within specified timescales.
