Standards Verifier – Forestry and Arboriculture

 

Part Time (30-40 days per year)

Self-employed with service contract rates to be agreed

 

The Opportunity

 

Lantra Awards is a leading Awarding Organisation for land-based training and qualifications. We are seeking a self-employed partner with strong leadership, influencing and negotiating skills and knowledge of the forestry and/or arboricultural industry to lead on the application of quality assurance standards for training and assessment in trees and timber.

 

Who we’re looking for:

 

Applications are sought from candidates who have an industry background in forestry and/or arboriculture, rather than a training or academic background.

 

To be considered you must:

• hold significant credibility through professional conduct and commitment to the industry

• have relevant, up-to-date knowledge of the industry

• demonstrate leadership skills and assertiveness

• demonstrate commitment to continual professional development and undertake any necessary training to maintain the role

• have excellent skills in building and managing effective working teams

• have excellent communication skills (written and spoken).

 

Duties will include:

 

• developing and leading the team verifying training and assessment carried out by Lantra Awards instructors and assessors

• supporting, monitoring and evaluating the External Verifiers to ensure that training and assessment is carried out in accordance with the requirements of Lantra Awards and to the best industry standards

• providing advice on the development of new products and services.
