home insurance paying for tree work?

Agree with all thats been said. Last gale we were called to a silver birch that was uprooting and there was a very nice green house under it. The insurance co said let it fall and then we will pay, if you climb it and make safe you pay for the greenhouse or any damage. The customer let the tree fall,we cleared it and she paid us. When she tried to get her money back they said NO,if the tree had been checked they would have noticed the fungus bracket and root rot.Not an act of god and she contributed to the tree failing.

 

I checked with our PL insurance,If we had tried to make the tree safe and hit the greenhouse they would not have paid out. That would not have been an acceptable risk,PL is for accidental damage. Sometimes we just get stuck in the middle.
