General Manager – Utility Arboriculture – Devon/Cornwall

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

 

Based at our Launceston office, the successful candidate will be a proactive business manager who will be able to offer significant operational, financial and commercial management to the largest arboriculture contract in the company. Glendale has been working with Western Power Distribution for nearly 20 years and carries out £2.1m p.a. of arboricultural services across the majority of Cornwall and North Devon.

 

Supported by a team of Service Delivery Managers and Supervisors, employing 60 arborists and surveyors delivering complete vegetation management to over 3,000km of power lines per annum this flagship contract offers a significant opportunity for a senior manager to further their career with Glendale.

 

Reporting to the Regional Director the successful candidate should be qualified in arboriculture, forestry or similar to degree level with significant experience in delivering large utility/vegetation management contracts. You will need to work to both Glendale and WPD processes and procedures ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards, whilst maintaining tight control of costs.

 

In addition, you will need to have excellent time management and administrative skills with the ability to work in a demanding environment with a strong health and safety culture, excellent people management & communication skills and attention to detail.

 

The ideal candidate will hold natural leadership qualities, innovation and enthusiasm required for this senior position and will be a key member of the regional management team.
