Our client is a high profile central London borough with a dynamic Parks and Open Spaces section. they are currently responsible for managing nearly 70 parks and open spaces which range from traditional parks, to grand city squares, historic graveyards as well as small neighbourhood playgrounds and allotments. In recent years, despite the economic pressures on local authorities they have been able to bring significant improvements to the parks through better services and large capital works; including the use of heritage lottery funds to refurbish several historic parks.

Following the appointment of a new Head of Parks and Open Spaces the borough has decided to appoint a Pojects Officer to oversee further improvements to the parks.

This is a varied and interesting role which would suit a senior horticultural professional with experience of implementing and managing projects - ideally within the public sector. The ideal candidates will have a relevant qualification, have worked within leaisure and amenity management and be an excellent communicator able to develop relationships with all stakeholders and interested parties. The position is initially to be employed on a temporary contract, before a permanent appointment is made.

Salary will reflect qualifications and experience, but would be expected to range from £32,000-£38,000PH.
