Would anyone be able to help me out with my RFS assigment? :001_rolleyes: I've been asked to define a number of terms, "Ribs" being one. I have used included bark and "V" union pictures to death and i think my lecturer might die if I show her anymore :001_tt2: .. so if anyone has any nice picture of a longitudinal rib foirmation on a stem or branch that would be a great help! thanks in advance, Gareth....:001_huh: or a web address with some on would be good! ive been trawling for a while now!

Get the 'Updated Field Guide for Visual Tree Assessment' by Claus Matheck, and 'The Body Language Of Trees' by Matheck & Breloer (trans. Lonsdale) if you can; they're full of diagrams of all sorts of rib formations, their meanings and how you would deal with them. These, and other books covering tree physiology can be found at Treesource Helped me a lot when I did my Cert. Arb. Good luck.

Cheers for the reply, I will be reading the "Updated Field Guide for visual Tree Assessment" in the next few weeks. I agree, there is alot of useful information and pictures in all the books but I could do with a scanner!
