2 stroke mix query

Hi

I have some Stihl 2 stroke oil in one of their metering bottles, (the one where you squeeze the bottle and a the top part fills up with oil then you know its the right amount)

 

Anyway I normally fill this part up to the 5L mark ready to put into a can of petrol , and have noticed that on the other side of this top section it has a 3L mark.

 

I assume that if I fill it up to the 3L mark with oil, then they this will be enough oil to go in 3L of petrol.
