Glendale is proud to announce that it is this year’s winner of the BALI Employer of the Year Award. The BALI Awards recognize BALI members who have demonstrated exceptionally high standards of professionalism and skill in a wide range of categories, as part of the landscaping industry. The awards were set up in 1976 and are respected in the UK and abroad as the standard to which others aspire. Glendale won the award for demonstrating good employer and management best practice through a number of HR and training-focused policies and activities. The award recognises Glendale’s “exemplary commitment to training development and personal fulfilment of employees and the creation of a working environment that consistently produces business and landscaping excellence”.

Amongst the work recognised was Glendale’s involvement in apprenticeship programmes and employment initiatives through Future Jobs Fund and Education Business Partnerships. Of particular note to the judges were ‘Training Champions’ who work within regions to identify staff needs and work closely with local training providers as well as the internal training programme available for managers in key disciplines. BALI commended Glendale’s communication functions, including the monthly newsletters, employee forums and an extensive employee survey. Success is celebrated effectively through a range of internal awards where 80 employees were presented with NVQ qualifications. Glendale was praised for its outreach work with community groups and charities, such as Perennial, which enhances the company’s commitment and care to beyond their own staff.

Tony Hewitt, Managing Director of Glendale Managed Services said " We are so proud and delighted to have been chosen as the employer of the year by BALI . Glendale has always endeavoured to ensure that it has a highly trained and well motivated workforce, serving the requirements of its many and varied clients and customers. "
