Job Title: Arborist Climber 

The Job: 

As a climber/arborist you fill a critical role supporting our climbers, and fulfilling our clients needs by assisting with job setup and completion cleanup, falling, trimming, chipping and bucking using chainsaws, chippers and other industry equipmentUnder the direction of one of our area leaders you will be working predominantly within a team, but there may be times that you will be working aloneTo be successful in this role you will need to be able to follow directions, collaborate with your colleagues, communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional manner, and have a very strong commitment to safety. 

What You Bring (aka Core Requirements): 

  • Resident of, or willing to relocate M-F to Mayne, Salt Spring or Pender Island  

  • Strong commitment to safety 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills 

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions 

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license 

  • ISA or equivalent; TRAQ 

  • Ability to climb with or without spurs 

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds 

  • Ability to climb trees and work at heights 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time 

 

Even Better If You Bring: 

  • Previous experience as a groundsperson 

  • Experience operating bucket trucks and chippers 

  • BCDL air brakes endorsement

  • Fair pay of $30 - $50 hourly depending on experience
