Tipper woes…

Having issues with a tip tray on a Nissan patrol  I have owned it for a few months and it worked once 

when you press the button sometimes it clicks 

mostly does nothing .Ive tried shorting the two large terminals on the solenoid. Nothing. I assume this means an issue with the motor.The loose red wire goes into the motor but I cant remember where it connects back to. Would it go to the + on the solenoid or the main earth below???
