Hello,

I am posting for assistance identifying a possible fungi in my crawlspace. I am located in East Texas, and this species was found in a recent purchase where there has been some wood rot.

I have some background in medical science so have encountered fungi before under a microscope and in the woods. I had thought its appearance may indicate hyphae, and upon touching them a brown mist suggestive of spores would release. I have done some reading on common fungi in housing, and some fungi appear to form a white powdery substance, perhaps like the second one located in this photo.

If anyone can suggest possible species or resources that would be more specialized in this area, I would greatly appreciate the help.

James
