Stihl KMA 130 R Battery Kombi

Hi folks,

Does anyone have any experience of using a Stihl KMA 130R kombi for hedge cutting ?

As from next year all my work is going to be in gardens and hence I'm thinking of changing my hedge cutting gear over from petrol to battery, For my long reach work I currently use a KM94R Kombi motor with the hedge trimming attachment which works brilliantly. My preference would be to continue using a kombi since I work out of a small vehicle that has limited space and having the kombi allows me to double it up as a strimmer.

My concerns about the battery one are as follows

  • 1: I notice the battery doesn't fit in the tool, I would be using the battery belt, how much of a pain in the butt is the lead that goes between the battery belt and tool ? I remember when I first started, I used a mains powered hedge cutter and on a couple of occasions sliced through the mains lead.
  • 2: What is the balance of the tool like with the hedge cutting attachment fitted ? My KM94 weighs 4kg, the battery one weighs 3.2kg, does this make it feel heavy at the cutting end ?

Many thanks.

Andy
