Hi all been reading posts on this site for years and never really contributed so here goes, I run a sawmill company in Nottinghamshire called Carlton wood mill Ltd.

We are a family run sawmill milling mostly English Larch, English oak chestnut, beech and ash we offer rough sawn and machine profiled timber and beams up to 7m long up to 300mm square.

We are a relatively new sawmill company (4 years) we run a Mebor sawmill line with planers and moulders on site.

Thought it would be useful to post and introduce myself Craig woods and my business we are always open to buying 25 tonne loads of milling grade timber and offer a free tip site for local tree surgeons. We offer a bespoke sawmilling service mainly producing cladding such as waney edge, featheredge and machine profiles T&G, shiplap, rainscreen, and smooth and grooved decking.

So if we can help give us a shout,

Craig woods

Hi J,

Thanks read about your move down south hope all is going well, yes the Mebor is excellent we have the Htz 1100 with log deck and outfeed conveyors expensive but good value for money needs to be kept busy mind...

I don't know if you've been up, but I saw Willie Dobie's in action at his sawmill (Abbey Timber) at Abbey St Bathans in SE Scotland. Fast and consistent mill.

We've a profusion of douglas fir at the moment if it's of any use, and a large volume of good larch coming later in the year.

Hi j,

Yes we use both can you send some pics of Douglas and price per tonne delivered to creswell Notts s804aj

Thanks craig

I think you're realistically just a bit too far north for it to be economical. DF is going to be nudging £100/t delivered in for 3.7s and a bit more for the 4.9s

Hi j 100 tonne is the going rate for both species so fine with us if you can make it work could get both species for 65 per tonne 4 years ago mad not even in line with inflation.

We mill about 4 loads a month.

Let me know anyway

P. S always interested in straight cedar
