The Role:

Located in Devon close to the border with Somerset, Blackdown Environmental provides Ecological Consultancy and Environmental Contracting services to a wide variety of clients within the transport (road and rail), housing, renewable energy and utilities sectors. 

 

You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks within the department,, these can include tree and vegetation management, habitat management, river works, invasive control and fencing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing high quality countryside management and experience of utilising new technologies.

 

Blackdown are keen to help the right candidate progress within the company by offering full support and on-going training.

 

 

Essential Requirements:

§  Have good communication and people skills

§  LISS/CSCS Card (can assist with application)

§  Have good communication and people skills

§  Experience in meeting targets

§  Good knowledge of Health and Safety

§  Have a full driving license

§  Attention to detail and methodical approach to tasks

§  Ability to work away from the main office including overnight stays when required

§  Willingness to undertake drug and alcohol testing when required for work on Highways and/ or rail

 

Desired Requirements:

·         Relevant CS units to 39

§  PA1 & 6A.

§  Additional tickets Inc. large tree and multiple windblown, CPCS and FMOC an advantage

 

Duties, skills and experience:

·         Undertaking commercial countryside management, ecological mitigation, wildlife fencing and riparian based works using a range of modern machinery.

·         Meeting given targets

·         Working to 9001 Quality and 14001 Environmental Management Systems

·         Plant, tool and vehicle maintenance

·         Personnel management of day to day activity.
