I'm not sure that's actually how it works, often the trade in price is a very healthy one, you lose the cash discount on your new machine, so selling privately will be better. The dealer often simply look to recoup the trade in price, plus a like to cover the warranty.

 

Will you be offering a similar warranty to the one offered by a dealer?

I can assure you the trade in is not a healthy price, and John Deere give so little discount it's unbelievable, there's no warranty given, just trying to find anyone that's looking for one before it gets the dealers markup loaded onto it and sold on.
