Temporary Tree Officer Required

We are looking for a Temporary Tree Officer, approximately 2 days (or 15 hours) per week to cover for long term sickness.

 

Duties of the job will include assessing applications to carry out works to trees that are subject to tree preservation orders, and notifications to carry out work to trees in conservation areas, and advise the local planning authority’s Landscape architect by way of a short report with a recommendation for the decision and any conditions.

 

In the main to act with independence, to relieve the workload of other officers and to report back to the landscape architect on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

 

You will need an arboricultural qualification and good knowledge of the relevant part of the Town and Country Planning act 1990 relating to protected trees. Experience of working with the local planning authorities would be beneficial. This role will be based in York, North Yorkshire.
