Which ear defender?

I've just bought the Hellberg am/fm defenders with jack lead for mp3/2-way radio, SNR rating is 31. A little bulky and weightier than I'm used to, but the sound quality is wonderful. Anything to shut out the droning hedgecutter noise!!

I've just got the Sordin HPE earmuffs 31snr and attached them to my stein helmet. They seem to work much better than the sordin left/right types and I've also noticed that the two little pins at the back of the attachment seem to rest against the helmet like they are supposed to; unlike when I mounted the left/right types. This makes them more rigid and gives a better acoustic seal. I'm not impressed with the tiny little screws that hold the MSA sordin adapters on though
