Carved Seat

Hi folks, I hope it's ok for me to put a few pics on?. I don't own a chainsaw (yet!) but I'm hoping that santa will bring me an Arbortech mini grinder so i can get to some bigger projects.

This is the bench that I made, its a piece of chestnut that had been on the floor for about a year, the legs are made out of recycled pine from an attic conversion, the house was originally built around 1908 so that kinda dates the wood. I am still sanding the seat area and have to get an outdoor finish on it (any advice would be welcome!)

The bench has turned into a future memorial for my dad who is very ill at the moment and is called "Father & Son" hence the little back piece

I also made this head for the livingroom! Hope you like.
